Unused temporary files start to build up, and the installation of software over time can hinder the performance of your PC. Our health check service focuses on these key areas and provides an MOT for your computer:

We will configure your desktop computers, laptops, mobile phone and any other wireless devices securely using the latest encryption standards ensuring your systems are totally protected.

No doubt about it, wireless technology is great! However it is still slower than the tradition Ethernet connection, and if you are like us and regularly have a house full of friends all sharing files and playing games, then you may choose to opt for an installation using Cat5 cable. So if you’re not sure then just ask and we can give you the low down on the best type of installation.

 Data Services

Data Backup: Loosing your documents, photos & email can be your worst nightmare! Don’t leave it until it is too late to backup your data. We can advise you as to the best methods for data backup and put the solution in place giving you complete peace of mind.

Data Cleansing: Did you know that formatting your hard drive is not enough to safe guard you from identity fraud? This means that any personal information on your computer could be accessed and used to apply for credit and fake ID’s such as passports, not to mention banking details and passwords. Using our special tools we are able to securely wipe the data from your equipment, safeguarding you and your identity.

Data Recovery: Trying to access your data and experiencing difficulty? Are you experiencing hardware or memory card failure? Have you knocked your laptop off the coffee table and smashed it? If so then it’s likely you’ll need our data recovery service to recover the data that was stored on your PC. We can use the latest technology to extract your important information from even the most corrupted PC, where the hard drive or storage media is intact.

Once the data is recovered we can provide it to you on a CD/DVD, Hard Drive or any other removable storage device. If we are unable to recover the data due to hardware failure we can recommend a dedicated data recovery service that will be able to recover your precious data.

Data Transfer: When you buy a new wallet or purse the first thing you do is put everything from your old one into your new one, and that’s exactly what we can do with your new computer! We can move everything from documents to email accounts over to your new equipment, quickly and securely with no fuss, leaving you to enjoy your new purchase!

 *No-Fix-No-Fee Policy

The No-Fix-No-Fee policy means that if the Coastal Computing engineer does not have the necessary technical knowledge or ability to resolve the problem or effect the repair, then no charge will be made to the customer.

If the engineer is able to resolve the problem or effect the repair, but is only prevented from doing so by the customer requesting the engineer not to proceed with the work, then the customer is charged for the engineer’s time spent to that point.  An example of this would be diagnosis of a faulty component that the customer does not want replaced, or can source elsewhere.   

If the engineer is able to resolve the problem or effect the repair, but is prevented from continuing due to the lack of media or product key for example, then the customer is charged for the engineer’s time spent to that point.

This policy does not apply to the following services: Data Recovery, Computer Virus or Spyware problems and computers that have been physically damaged, such as struck by lightning.
