Testimonials

“Having gone on to a broadband service we started experiencing problems with connections, and then lost the complete service. We contacted the broadband providers help line but after extensive advice and direction we had still made no progress in regaining the service. We then decided to contact “Coastal Computing”, who were very helpful and within an hour their IT support, Andy Hardy, arrived at our house and immediately looked into the problem. He also contacted the providers support but found them less than helpful and very confusing, despite going to the highest level of support. Using his own skills and extensive knowledge he was able to unravel all the conflicting directions given by the provider, and within two hours, supported by copious amounts of coffee and biscuits, he had our broadband service up and running. We feel that without his involvement in this matter we would still be experiencing problems. We honestly feel that we can and have recommended him for all computer problems. The cost of his services was very reasonable , he is jargon free and explains all issues in plain English. Thank you Andy.”Jacqui and Brian.

My Requirements
I was in the market for a high performance gaming machine that would be capable of playing all the latest games in high detail, as well as providing high definition media capabilities for film and music.  I wanted a system that would give me the best possible performance for my budget, and allow me to use a dual screen setup as I already possessed a 32” HD LCD TV.
What I received
Coastal Computing put together a workstation utilising the latest Quad Core technology, 4Gb of RAM, high end Nvidia graphics, BluRay Hi Def playback, 64BIT Windows Vista and a beautiful 22” Screen to complement my existing HD TV.
First Impressions
When taking it all out of the packaging it was apparent that a lot of time and thought was taken to choose the exterior parts, as they all had a great feel of quality, and even intricate things like gunmetal keys matched the mouse and power buttons on the monitor, making the whole thing look like a matched set.  When first turning on the system everything was illuminted by matching blue lights, from the chassis to the keyboard which looks fantastic!!  I decided to take a peek inside to see what my money had bought me, and the attention to detail inside the build was top class.  All of the cabling was extremely tidy, this coupled with Coastal Computing’s custom choice of parts and the overall quietness of the system whilst running, shows immediately that a whole lot more thought had has gone into building this machine than just its exterior looks.
In Windows
The initial boot up was quick and I was presented with the vista desktop.  I promptly loaded on a few games, namely Mass Effect, Gears Of War & Spore.   I tried running all of these games in the highest possible settings and they all looked amazing!  The textures, details and colours all running fluently make for a very realistic game playing experience.  With a BluRay drive fitted to the system giving the ability to play HD & BluRay movies on a secondary 32” HD TV, I really do have a very versatile piece of kit.  Connectivity is excellent as it has more USB that you could ask for (10) along with an optical out so you can achive 7.1 Surround Sound.  Another surprising extra was the excellent built in Wi-Fi which came with a magnetic Ariel!
If you are a complete novice reading this then you might think this would be expensive, but if you think a lot of homes these days will have a console (£300 approx) some form of home pc or laptop (£300ish) and a T.V (£200ish), just that alone comes to £800.  When you look at the versatility of a machine like this, it’s represents excellent value for money considering the quality of the overall package.
Overall
I am very impressed with the time taken to assure the end product fulfilled my requirements (and then some).  The computer itself and the build quality, along with the after sales care has been magnificent, so I am forced to say I am extremely happy with Coastal Computing! Great work and thanks!
